Lana Eagle

Interim Executive Director

Lana is a highly respected Aboriginal relations strategist, well-known in the mineral exploration, development and mining sector for her depth of knowledge regarding aboriginal engagement, economic development strategies and for helping companies toadvance their projects with support from Aboriginal communities. Her list of accomplishments includes relationship building, economic development, wealth management and banking. Lana has her own consultancy. 

 

She currently chairs the Aboriginal Relations Committee for the Association of Mineral Exploration British Columbia; and is the Diversity 101 Session Chair for the Canadian Institute of Mining 2014 Conference. Ever passionate about her volunteer work, Lana is the Executive Director of the Industry Council for Aboriginal Business. Originally from Saskatchewan, she is a member of the Whitecap Dakota First Nation.

The Board of Directors

 

ICAB is governed by a volunteer, elected Board of Directors. The Board includes Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal professionals from corporations, businesses, and First Nations.

Keith Atkinson, Vice-President

First Nations Forestry Council

Keith is a member of the Snuneymuxw First Nation and a professional forester. With over twenty years in forest planning and management, Keith has had a continuous focus on finding ways to assist and improve how First Nations communities are involved in and benefit from natural resource management. Keith grew up in coastal communities while developing forest management skills from employment in the family business, Coast Forest Management Ltd. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from UBC in 1994.

 

For the past several years Keith has worked with the B.C. First Nations Forestry Council and is the CEO for KDAA Consulting and the Snuneymuxw Development Corporation.

Alex Johnstone, Treasurer

Tax Rulings Officer at CRA

Alex Johnstone is a Tax Rulings Officer at the Canada Revenue Agency providing interpretive guidance in respect of the Income Tax Act.  Previously, he worked as a tax advisor at PwC providing individuals and businesses with tax guidance in both a domestic and international context. As a lawyer with seven years of experience in tax, Alex has worked with government, industry and professional firms. He brings to ICAB expertise in the legal interpretation of statutes and contracts

 

Alex's hobbies include reading and music. In his spare time Alex volunteers as a pianist at senior homes. With Red River Metis roots, Alex is motivated to build the Aboriginal business sector.

Randy Price, Secretary

Commissioner, First Nations Tax Commission, PWC

Randy Price is a respected corporate tax professional retiring from VP Financial Services, Spectra Energy Inc. in charge of Tax and Internal Audit.  Randy has 30 years experience and an extensive network of contacts in government, industry and public practice. He has a demonstrated interest in, and 23 years experience with, First Nations property tax and GST issues as they relate to the interests of non-aboriginal commercial taxpayers with investments on First Nations reserves. Randy was formerly with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the First Nations Tax Commission.

 

Randy is a Chartered Public Accountant. He was born in Winnipeg, and has spent his professional career in Toronto and Vancouver. Randy has two children, four grandchildren, and is an avid golfer and downhill skier.
